Wisanka is an old famous player in the furniture field for more than 20 years. Wisanka has advantages in the use of materials, especially natural materials, such as mahogany, mindi, rattan, as well as a variety of synthetics and metals of various designs. Wisanka is famous for several original designs and contemporary designs as well as eco-friendly furniture at competitive prices. This brand leads to a contemporary design that combines natural elements and modern design, which has a common interest with the target market, which is for resort and hotel. This project was a collaboration program between Pelita Harapan University furniture class and Wisanka in 2019.
DEVELOPMENT
This design was inspired by the basic shapes of geometry. The geometric shapes consisted of square, rectangular, hexagonal, and circle which were combined into one harmony in order to get an identity with the main objectives to full fill various demand of market classes. For the frame design, I was inspired by the arch shape of the architecture, which was famous for having an excellent strength that it did not fade for decades. The green box were the design approval, but there was a revision about the material seat, so I had to give some optional designs to make a feasible realization that suitable with Wisanka capabilities.
