This project was a collaboration program between Pelita Harapan University and Winston Garage for second term of clay modeling class in 2020. The brief case was about customer demand of BMW M2 users. So, Winston Garage wanted to create additional parts for them. The requirements of this project must be simple which were the design nor the installation process, with the main objective which can be used for daily and also for hobby purposes.
Keywords of this project were "Nice, Clean, and Sporty"
DEVELOPMENT
In design development, for 2D sketches I used Adobe Photoshop for the ideations. Then those sketches were implemented by 3Ds max modeling program with parametric modeling method.
The first design be present with a more feminine and less aggressive style to fill the market design of female drivers. The design were made dynamicly by following the curve of the OEM body line starting from the front splitter, garnish, side moulding, short tail, and rear diffuser. The side moulding was deliberately anomaly made where the direction of the additional part was reversed, but it designed to complement the opposite line direction from the lower front of the rear mud guard
The second design be present with more aggressive style, beauty, but indeed for the functionable point which was, to reduce drag at the bottom of the car in order to improve the car's handling performance when driving at high speed. The target market for this design were commonly used for both male and female drivers.
